Citizen - Philippians 1:1-11

On July 7, our new pastor, Dr, Patrick Edwards, begins a new series called, Citizen, from Paul's letter to the Philippians. Today he opens the Word of God to Philippians 1:1-11.

1. Into His body that we may walk in His salvation and proclaim it. (1:1-6)

2. Living as a Partnership (1:7-11)

We find that as the love of Christ transforms our lives personally, our church (our koinōnia), as it shapes the way we think and act, this work should find its intended end in the fruit of right living.

A Partnership in the Gospel

1. Shares in the financial support of the mission

2. Loves and cares for one another

3. Grows in the knowledge of God’s Word

4. Produces a holy people

To put it simply, Paul prays that believers would actually look like citizens of the Kingdom.

Don Solomon will bring a message called, “A Celebration of God’s Goodness” from several Psalms, integrated with celebratory music from the congregation, choir, and praise team. Remember that 11:00 Worship Kidstyle is taking the summer off, however, we provide care for children from nursery through kindergarten. It’s also a time to celebrate our dads on Father’s Day.

The service may appear to be disjointed, but that is because we have omitted most of the the music from this podcast recording (except the theme song, the Goodness of God).

Jesus Loves Me - John 11:1-16

On June 9, join us for our special Sunday worship service at 10:00 AM. Our guest preacher today is Dr. Patrick Edwards, preaching today in view of a call to be our next lead pastor. The message is called, Jesus Loves Me, from John 11:1-16.

After the service ends, church members will convene in the sanctuary for a special called business meeting to decide about calling Patrick to be our next lead pastor!

There are no classes on June 9, however, there is preschool care for kids nursery through Kindergarten.

On May 26, our guest preacher was Michael Worrall, discipleship pastor from the Vine Church in Blacksburg, and associate director of the Bonhoeffer House. Michael grew up in King's Grant and is a product of many people investing into his life.
